What Habacona is

Habacona is a website where owners list homes for rent or for sale in The Bahamas, and where renters and buyers find them, book visits and apply. Habacona isn't a landlord, seller, real estate agent or attorney. Leases and sales are agreements between the owner and the renter or buyer, not with Habacona.

Your account

• You must be 18 or older to create an account.
• Give your real name and keep your contact details up to date.
• Keep access to your email, Google or Facebook account secure. You're responsible for what happens in your Habacona account.
• One person per account. Don't sign in as someone else.

If you list a home

• You must own the home or have the owner's permission to rent it out or sell it.
• Your listing must be accurate and up to date: the price, terms, photos, address and what's nearby. Take it down when the home is no longer available.
• Photos and text must be yours, or you must have permission to use them.
• You set your own price and terms, and you're responsible for making sure they, and how you choose a tenant or buyer, follow the law.
• You give Habacona permission to show your listing, photos and owner details on the site and when promoting it, while the listing is up.
• The Habacona team reviews listings and can ask for changes, decline or remove a listing that breaks these terms.

If you're renting or buying

• Information in your applications must be true, and documents must be genuine and yours to share.
• Visit a home and check it before you pay anything or sign. Read our tips on renting safely.
• Book visits only when you intend to go, and cancel if you can't make it.

Things you mustn't do

• Post fake, misleading or duplicate listings, or ask for money for a home you can't rent or sell.
• Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone you meet through Habacona.
• Use contact details, including WhatsApp numbers, for anything other than the home you're asking about. No spam or marketing.
• Copy listings or collect data from the site with bots or scrapers.
• Try to get into accounts or parts of the site that aren't yours, or interfere with how the site works.

We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and remove what they posted.

Money

Habacona doesn't collect rent, deposits or payments for sales. Any payment is between you and the other person. Listing is free while we launch; if that changes, we'll tell owners first, as our pricing page explains.

What we're responsible for

We work to keep Habacona available and listings genuine, but we can't check every detail of every home or every person. Listings, applications and messages come from our members, and we don't guarantee that they're accurate, or that any visit, lease or sale will go ahead. As far as the law allows, Habacona isn't responsible for losses that come from dealings between members. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law.

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and its date, and tell account holders about important changes by email. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Questions about these terms? Email legal@habacona.com.
