Privacy policy

What we collect

• Your account: your email address, and if you sign in with Google or Facebook, the name, email and profile photo they share with us. We never see your password for those services.
• Your details: the name, phone number, WhatsApp number and introduction you add to your account.
• What you do on Habacona: homes and searches you save, visits you book, and rental applications, including the documents you upload.
• Listings: the details, photos, address and map location of homes you list.
• Messages and sign-ups: what you send through the contact form, and your email address if you join our mailing list.
• Visits to the site: anonymous page-view statistics from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track you across sites.

Who sees what

• Everyone can see live listings, including the owner's name, profile photo, introduction and, if the owner added them, the street address and map location.
• Signed-in visitors can see an owner's WhatsApp number, only if the owner turned WhatsApp on.
• When you book a visit or apply, the landlord or seller of that home sees the details and documents you send them.
• The Habacona team can see accounts, listings, visits, applications and messages, to run and protect the service.
• We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.

Services we use

These companies process data for us, only to provide the service: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (analytics), Mapbox and OpenStreetMap (maps), and Google and Facebook (only if you choose to sign in with them). Some of them store data outside The Bahamas.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and its data while you use Habacona. Application documents stay available to the landlord while the application is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, saved items and uploaded documents, and remove your name from any listings, except where we must keep records by law.

Your choices and rights

• Change your details any time in My account.
• Turn WhatsApp off by clearing the number in My account.
• Unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any email.
• Ask for a copy of your data, or for your account and data to be deleted, through the contact form (topic: My account). Send it from the email address on your account so we can confirm it's you.

Deleting data from Facebook sign-in

If you signed in with Facebook and want your data removed, ask us through the contact form as above. You can also remove Habacona from your Facebook settings, under Apps and websites. We delete the data Facebook shared with us (your name, email and profile photo) along with your account.
